Unlock Your Potential: Access to Work Funding for Neurodiverse Individuals in the UK

Are you neurodiverse and facing challenges at work?  The good news is that the UK Government's Access to Work (ATW) program can help! This fantastic initiative provides funding for practical support to remove barriers and help you thrive in your workplace.

What can you claim?

ATW offers a wide range of support options, including:

Coaching and Co-coaching: Get personalised support to develop strategies for managing your workload, communication, and time management. Co-coaching can involve including your manager or colleagues for a more collaborative approach.

Workplace Training: Funding to get a specialist trainer to train your manager and colleagues on neurodiversity awareness to foster a more inclusive and understanding work environment.

Assistive Software: Explore software tools that can help with tasks like organisation, spelling, grammar, communication, and focus.

Support Work: ATW can sometimes fund support workers to assist with various tasks including:

Body Doubling: Having someone physically present to provide a sense of calm and focus.

IT Support: Get help with navigating technology and troubleshooting computer issues.

Equipment: Funding is available for equipment that can make a difference, such as ergonomic chairs, specialised keyboards, noise-cancelling headphones, monitor stands, and more. Popular options for neurodiverse individuals include:

ReMarkable tablets: These paper-like tablets are ideal for note-taking and visual organisation.

Voice Recorders: Dictate notes, ideas, and emails for improved efficiency and reduced reliance on traditional note-taking methods.

Important Note:

A formal diagnosis is not required to apply for ATW funding.  The key factor is demonstrating that a neurodiverse condition (e.g., ADHD, dyslexia, autism) is impacting your ability to perform your job for over 12 months.
