Back Cover Notes About The Journey To This Album
This album is from the heart: I talk of love, loss and finding oneself. It crosses over from contemporary folk, new country, blues and pop. There are slower ballads like the title track “Woman in my Prime” and the hauntingly beautiful “Gonna Be Me” to the up tempo, toe tapping “What’s My Name (Train Song)” and tongue in cheek “Bad Boy”. You will find yourself singing along with “Baby You Can’t Fool Me” and putting the wonderful track “Coming Home” on repeat time and again. “I Will Rise” resonates with the oppressed all over the world and you will want to play “Solid Ground” any time you feel down and want a reminder to get up and get going.
There are two beautiful female voices, two acoustic guitars on 5 of the tracks, three acoustic guitars when Jannice Jones and Karn Harding are joined by the talented Devon based bluesman Richard Pickles on 7 of the others , percussion and a vibraphone on two of the tracks. It really is easy on the ear and uplifting for the soul.
